Space Gala 2023

Let me share with you all my experience in the Space Gala, event hosted by Reinvented Inc.

Let's start by sharing with you about the NGO. Reinvented Inc is a Nonprofit Organization that inspired girls to pursue STEM by reinventing the perception of women in STEM fields while inspiring interest in STEM for young women worldwide.

After applying for a scholarship in September, I was selected as a Reinvented Inc. Space Gala Scholar 2023. In the application, I shared my experience in STEM volunteering in Costa Rica, and how my participation in the event can contribute to diversity and inclusion in the STEM field (which you will see soon😎).

Now, the Space Gala is Reinvented Inc.’s annual in-person event that celebrates women in science. A lot of engineers, scientists, chemists, pilots, among others, passionate people in STEM gathering in the same place. The first ever Space Gala was held in 2022.

As a Woman in STEM, STEM advocated, and active STEM volunteer for those less represented in my country, it was a huge opportunity for me to participate in the Space Gala, especially since I was going to be able to extend my network and I'm quite sure some nice collaboration can happen.

The event was held at NASA Kennedy Space Center (I mean!!) and some of the special guests were those powerful women whom I admire and who inspire me to keep doing STEM communication and activities like Caeley Looney, Camille Bergin, Joan Melendez, Susie Martinez, Athena Brensberger, Asia Fee and others.

After this amazing experience and after the event, I had a meaningful chat with new girlfriends, where we all realized that each of us is contributing to the Aerospace Industry from our own barriers and realities. And not matter the challenges we were facing, we were there, supporting each other! 💜

And well, this special event didn't end there. We were invited to the next day's Brunch at The Space Bar. A beautiful place with an amazing view! Here we also were able to share with incredible women while having some mimosas. Trust me, this was a PERFECT, magic weekend!

There's a wonderful feeling of empowerment when women reunite and support and celebrate our battles. I'm so thankful for this experience and so full of motivation and passion to contribute to the STEM field and achieve my dreams of becoming a reference in the Aerospace Industry.
